Rules

Despite the fact that this is quite a simple game, there are still many rules which need to be clarified here before you should participate in any games.

Survivor Classic Rules

Survivor Tag Rules

[ Survivor Classic ]

1.
In order to participate in a survivor game, you must have a registered account on this site. Once you have registered an account, you will be eligible to join the UGN-R channel on BR. You must play on your registered Survivor name.

2.
The last person to make contact with the ball after 1 minute (when OVERTIME flashes) of play is eliminated (booted from the game).  This means that if you shoot a ball at another player and MISS then you are likely to lose unless you retrieve the ball in time and hit another player with it.  Games will always last 1 (one) minute, no more and no less. Due to the new implementation of the bot, play now stops when the game is paused, but still after 1 minute.

3.
A player cannot keep hold of the ball for an excessive amount of time without making an attempt at hitting someone.  An exception to this rule is in the final round due to the decreasing number of players to hit. An "excessive amount of time" will be judged by the ref on a case by case basis.

4.
In each round one player must start with the ball.  To decide which player this is, the ref will press F2 in game and will then call the players to go first in the order of that list (it is completely random).  If a player does not go to the ball within 10 seconds they will be eliminated.  Also, if a player goes to the ball when they have not been called they will be eliminated for ignorance of the rules.

5.
Games will commence after the ref types !321

6.
At no time should a player switch colours unless directed by a ref.  Failure to act on this rule will result in a boot.

7.
If a player lags out or goes AFK after the game has commenced, they are still a part of the game and will lose if they are left with the ball after 1 (one) minute.  Otherwise, if a player makes it known to the ref that he is not ready to start the next round before the game commences, that player has 30 (thirty) seconds to return to the game.

8.
Purposely shooting the ball away from play will not be tolerated.  This will be seen as holding the ball for an excessive amount of time and after one warning that player will be eliminated.

9.
Smurfing will not be tolerated.  If a player is caught smurfing they will be banned from the league for a season.

10.
To participate in a Survivor game you must be in the UGN-R channel in BR Chat.  Also, giving out the password anywhere other than the UGN-R channel will not be tolerated.  You will be given one warning for each of these events, after this you will be banned from the league.

11.
Allying (or teaming) is strictly forbidden. Anyone caught allying will be given an official warning, and if caught again will be banned for the season.

12.
A player is only said to "have possession" of the ball if the ball is actually taken in by the gravity of their ship. If a player holds the ball with their gravity through a wall it is perfectly legal and they do not have possession of the ball.

13.
In the final round of a survivor game, it is required for each opponent to be opposite colours, this will be achieved by the ref randoming the teams. Furthermore, the final round will be played until one of the participants has an advantage of two wins over their opponent. In each of the final games, the starter will alternate until there is a winner. For example, Player1 starts and wins, next game Player2 starts and loses; Player1 wins the game because he is 2-0 up. Games will go on as long as they have to.

14.
At the beginning of each game, the teams will be randomed once for consistency.

[ Survivor Tag ]

The rules for Survivor Tag are very much like the original Survivor Classic, but there are a few important differences in the rules:

1.In all rounds, the round will commence once the ball has hit the perimeter wall for the first time. At that point, the ball is live.

2.Players are eliminated from the game when the ball is shot directly at them and the ball is caught within their gravity. The player will then be removed from the game.

3.If the ball bounces off a wall in any way after being shot, it is a free ball for anyone to claim.

4.Players receive one "tag" point for every other player they eliminate from the game. An exception to this is the final round, in which one tag point will be awarded to the winner however many rounds are played.

5.The player in possession of the ball will be given approximately 30 seconds to make an attempt at hitting someone. After this time, the player will be asked to give up possession of the ball to another player. An exception to this rule is in the final round.

All other rules are the same as Classic Survivor; this includes how the final round is played.
